Cycas revoluta, one of the most primitive living plants, are very unusual and popular ornamentals. A rugged trunk, topped with whorled feathery leaves has lead to the common name ”Sago Palm”, however it is actually related to conifer and Ginko trees – all cone bearing plants which trace their origins back to the ancient flora of the early Mesozoic era. Often called ”living fossils”, Cycads have changed very little in the last 200 million years.
Cycad palmtrees are one of the most primitive living plants, known as “living fossils”. These subtropical plants are suitable for your home, garden, patio or balcony since they can adapt to a wide range of temperatures from 5 to 42°C. They are easy to grow both indoors and outside (when outside mind low temperatures). What is important to know, is that the palm is highly poisonous for both human and animals.
The Cycas are approximately 50cm – 60cm high (measured including pot). They will be supplied with a chunky base and a mass of green foliage.
